OMEGA QUANTUM

2.1

The competition rules of the German Swimming Association (DSV) are valid, as far as they do not contradict the rules of the World Aquatics (WA). In this case the rules of the WA have priority. Futhermore, the Legal System (RO) and the Anti-Doping Regulations (ADO) of the DSV apply in the current version. For handicapped persons with a corresponding prrof of classification, the competition regulations of the German Disabled Sports Association e.V. (DBS) are to be applied. All data refer to all gender.

2.2

The swim is done according to the one-start-rule. The start command will be in English.

2.3

Eligible to participate are the member of clubs/starting groups that belong to a national association affiliated to the DSV and are in possession of the association rights. Together with the registration the clubs/starting groups have to give an assurance that the athletes registered by them, have the right to start for the club/starting group, that the prescribed annual licende has been paid and that they can prove theier health by a medical certificate which is not older than one year (§11 (2) WB-Allgemeiner Teil).

2.4

Foreign athletes as defined by §102 (2) WB-FT SW who do not have the right to start for a German club/German starting group are also eligible to participate. Prerequisite for participation is that the national swimming federation agrees to a start writing to the DSV by the closing date for registration (the agreement must be submitted with the registration) and that they are registered in due time. For foreign athletes, the registration and licensing obligation as well as proof of sporting ability in terms of the competition regulations are waived.

2.5

The entries have to be submitted on the offical DSV forms (registration form DSV-Form 101 and registration lists DSV-Form 102). Additionally the entry has to be sent in a file in the current DSV-Standard or Lenex. The documents must be completely filled out an well readable. Entries will only be accepted by e-mail to the entry adress. Due to the requirements of the WA, the exact date of birth of the athletes must be additionally stated informally by email with the entries. Without this information the times cannot be reported to the WA.

The names of the coaches have to be communicated with the submission of the entries.

The entries are made by the respective clubs/starting groups.

2.6

After receipt of the entries, the registering clubs/starting groups will only receive an entry confirmation by the e-mail if they have a valid e-mail adress.

2.7

Only one contact address is allowed per club/team. Surplus contact addresses will be ignored. The clubs/starting groups have to ensure the validity of their contact data (e-mail address). The club ID and the person ID as well as the corresponding national association (LSV code number) must be stated for all entries. Entries will be rejected if:

- the entries are incomplete

- the entries are demonstrably incorrect

2.13

Entries for 800m and 1500m freestyle: The time limits for the 800m and 1500m Freestyle must be proven in the qualificaation period from 01/01/2023 to 04/01/2024. Times which are not listed in the DSV list of best swimmers cannot be used as proof.

2.14

The referee panel will be composed by the referee chairman of the Berlin Swimming Association.

3.1 Setting the heats:

The heats will be set on 10 lanes in the morning sessions. The events 800m freestyle and 1.500m freestyle will be held directly as a decision according to entry times according to §123 WB FT-SW (decision). The eight fastest registered times will start directly in the final.

The preliminary heats are set in accordance with §122 WB FT-SW independent of year according to preliminary criteria.

All 200m IM of the youth competitions will also be set as a decision based on the entry times according §123 WB-FT SW.

The organizer reserves the right to combine competitions or to allow additional runs.

The 8 fastest times in the open class (classification group 1), EJC classification (classification group 2) and the youth finals (classification group 3) will qualify for the finals. If athletes of the classification group 2 (EJC) qualify for the final of the classification group 1 (open class), they will start in the final of the classification group 1 (open class).

In classification group 2 there is also the special feature that the 6 time-fastest of the EJC age groups qualify an 2 places are reserved for EYOF age groups (2008/2009 male and 2009/2010 female), if available.

In case of a timely withdrawal according §131 (15) WB for the finals, five reserve swimmers per scoring group will be nominated. They will move up according to the number of registered swimmers. The renouncement of a substitute swimmer is also subject to deregistration according to §131 (15). Deregistration is always valid for all finals of a course.

If two or more swimmers have qualified for the last place in the final, lanes 0 or 9 will be additionally occupied in the final.

3.2 Limitations:

The number of entries is limited to the number of heats indicated in the race order. Admission will be granted for the specified entry time. Obvious false entries will be rejected by the organizer.

3.3 Evaluation and awards:

The scoring will be done the three classification groups:

Classification group 1: open class

Eligible to start are the age groups 2010 and older (1 - 332); the three first place finisher in the finals or time heats will receive medals.

Classification group 2: EJC ranking in the finals

Born 2007-2010 female as well as born 2006-2009 male; the three first places in the finals or time heats receive medals.

The final placement in the finals is based on the final times of all partcipants of the corresponding age groups from A-final and EJC-final.

Classification group 3: Youth classification

Age groups 2011-2012, 2013-2014; the first three finishers in the finals or time heats will receive medals and certificated.

The victory ceremonies for the 200m IM of the youth competitions will take place during the running competition.

In the final session the victory ceremonies will take place in blocks. The exact times can be found in the entry lists of the final sessions.

3.4 Entry lists and Protocol:

After the deadline, entry lists will be published first. Canncellations can be made until 04/15/2024, 06.00 PM. After that the heats will be created, which will be published online on 04/17/2024 at the latest. Entry lists and protocol in paper form will not be created for the teams. The documents will be available for download on the event page (see 4.1).

3.5 Swimwear:

The WA regulations and the corresponding DSV axplanations are to be abserved. The judging panel shall carry out appropriate visual checks throughout the event.

3.6 Data protection:

Organisers and promoters process personal data provided by the clubs / starting associations in the context of the entries for the competition. The data will be stored and processed for the creation of a registration result, for the creation of minutes, the posting of results, for the award ceremony, for creation of certificates, record lists, high score lists and for publication on the Internet (live timing, log files, event homepage, association homepage, DSV portal). Before, during and after the competition event, these data are also used for correspondence with the clubs / starting associations, for medal coverage and for communication with the swimming associations.

Photographs, film recordings or photomechanical reproductions made during the event may be used by the organizer and authorized third parties such as media and sponsors without any claims for compensation by the respective participant or his legal representative. Unauthorizied third parties have no access to the stored personal data. Organizers and commissioned service providers store and use the data for as long as it necessary for their purpose.

By submitting the entries, the clubs/teams agree to the storage, processing and use of personal data for all registered participants. In the case of underage participants, the clubs and teams registering are responsible for the consent of a legal representative. Each participant or his/her legal representative may object to the storage, processing and use of personal data in whole or in part to the organizer in writing at any time and demand their deletion.

Possible consequences result from the competition regulations of the German Swimming Federation e.V.

3.7 Time limits:

For all competitions the following times are valid. If entry times are outside the time limits, the organizer reserves the right to reject these entries.

4.1 Event information:

4.2 Accreditation:

An electronic entry system will be used. All participants and trainers register in advance at https://www.frieda.app/, if they have not already done. No admission will be possible without a coresponding QR code.

4.3 Catering:

A catering offer for the participants is planned. Up-to-date information will also be published on the event website (see 4.1).

4.4 Spectators:

Tickets can be purchased at the box office on site. Up-to-date information will also be published on the event website (see 4.1).

4.5 Press agents:

Interested journalists and photographers please send an e-mail to presse@berlinswimopen.de, presenting their press card.

4.6 Doping controls:

The competition has been registered by NADA by German Swimming Federation. NADA is responsible for diciding on possible controls, the necessary premises will be provided by the organizer.

4.7 Liability:

The organizers and the Berlin Bäderbetriebe assume no liability for lost property, accidents, theft or damage to property of any kind.
